Live out your summer holidays every day in our latest luxury display home, a modern beach house custom designed for life on the west coast.
Smooth, sleek lines give a contemporary look and feel, with a relaxed, coastal vibe resonating throughout the home.
Clever and versatile, the well-thought out floorplan will suit many, with four bedrooms, three bathrooms, study and multiple living spaces across two floors.
Riverstone Owner/Director Tim Marshall says one of the bedrooms is a fully self-contained private guest suite complete with its own kitchenette, built-in bench seating and ensuite – something that really sets the house apart.
“This is quite secluded, accessed by its own internal staircase but still very much part of the house itself, which is perfect for guests, an au-pair or that older child who is not quite ready or willing to leave the family home.
“This is a unique, custom designed home that we worked on closely with our clients to get just right,” he explains.
“We had some push back from town planning on the initial proposal, which required us to go back and forth with the design several times. Once we got it just right for the clients (and the council) all the material and design selections flowed really well between us and the clients.
“The final design is a great execution of the modern beach house look, a luxury, custom-designed home that fits perfectly in the Cottesloe streetscape.”
The coastal look starts with the façade, achieved through white weatherboard cladding and feature limestone; this continues inside with feature cladding and plenty of timber, from the light engineered timber flooring to the stunning French Oak timber treads and risers on the main staircase.
Built-in window seats and headboards add to the warm, homely feel.
The modern kitchen is bright and airy, with classic white matt cabinets and drawers, integrated appliances, window splashback and stainless steel benchtop with moulded sink.
Feature timber-look Laminex in Honey Elm contrasts beautifully against the mostly-white kitchen on the rangehood, open storage and a floating shelf. This is carried through on feature posts and horizontal braces on the stunning island bench, topped with Caesarstone Statuario Maximus for the marble look, which also features in the scullery.
The kitchen opens to the spacious dining area, drenched in natural light with elevated north-facing glass windows and high ceilings. It also has a built-in window seat – the perfect place to cosy up with a morning coffee while looking out to the alfresco area and backyard.
The living room sits just off the dining space, with an incredible gas log fireplace surrounded by limestone cladding, which wraps around to the alfresco area making it a real stand-out in the home.
Designed with kids in mind, when entering the home via the garage there is a drop off zone, perfect for school bags, shoes and sports equipment, complete with built-in bench, hooks and storage.
The rear of the ground floor has a playroom with its own storeroom and an adjacent powder room, and leads up to the laundry.
The staircase that accesses the guest suite is in this zone, which is more like a studio apartment. While it is functional with its own kitchenette and ensuite, it also looks impressive, with a built-in recessed headboard for the bed.
The main section of the first floor is accessed via the central staircase in the entry hall, a soaring void bringing in light to the upstairs sitting room.
The master suite features another built-in window seat overlooking the front yard, and has a huge walk in robe. The ensuite is a beautiful space, with feature timber-look tiles, white cabinetry and Caesarstone topped vanity in Fresh Concrete – the look that is carried through all of the bathrooms.
The two minor bedrooms are on the opposite side of the sitting room to the master, each with built-in robes and share a bathroom.
Outside, the alfresco area has feature ceiling lining and heat strips, making entertaining year-round a breeze.
“We are really proud of this incredible home,” Tim says. “It is custom-designed and built for the relaxed, coastal lifestyle that we are lucky enough to enjoy here in Perth.”
