Tall, slender and attractive, Riverstone’s newest contemporary display is the perfect model of a luxurious, spacious home on a narrow lot.

Cleverly designed over three levels, the elongated four bedroom, three bathroom home with multiple living spaces oozes style, while remaining highly functional for low-maintenance living.

Showing why a custom design and build is so crucial, an expansive 595sqm home has been built on a long, narrow 455sqm block.

“This display is the perfect example of how you can achieve a spacious home no matter the size of the frontage,” Riverstone Owner/Director Tim Marshall explains.

“By customising the floorplan, we have also been able to get the most out of the site, with river views from various vantage points on the upper level.”

The Riversone desingers went with an undercroft garage, so that the narrow front elevation isn't dominated by a garage door. The modern exterior is formed through sleek, flat lines, softened with eye-catching stone cladding and slick cedar-lined ceilings, which also form an inviting entryway.

Step inside and there is an open, airy feel, from the double-height entry void to the wide hallways, with walls of glass bathing the home in in natural light.

The living space at the rear of the ground floor is the centrepiece of the home, and despite its contemporary look has a relaxed, warm feel created through the use of different textures and natural materials from the ground up, starting with the Engineered Oak timber floors.

The streamlined galley-style kitchen and adjacent scullery feature fresh white cabinets and drawers, all with invisible ‘finger pulls’ to enhance the sleek, modern appearance, with LED strip lights on the underside of the overheads. The island benchtop features the stunning Caesarstone Calacatta Nuvo, cascading to a timber breakfast bar wrapping around the outer edge.

The rangehood is enclosed by a stone-look tile, flowing down to the splashback, which ties in beautifully with the impressive feature wall in the living room.

Glass stacking doors seamlessly open the internal living and dining spaces to the alfresco, which doubles as an outdoor room. Complete with gourmet outdoor kitchen, wood-fired pizza oven and Thermofilm heatstrips it can be used year-round, and with a backdrop of an exposed brick wall, gloss cedar-lined ceiling and exposed aggregate base, the alfresco area is a real feast for the eyes.

”Incredible entertaining spaces have been created right throughout the home,” Mr Marshall says.

“While the alfresco is hard to go past, the upper level has a lounge with its own kitchenette and balcony with views to the river, and the undercroft includes a home theatre and wine cellar. Add to that a garage with parking for three cars, and it really is the ultimate man-cave.”

The master suite is situated at the opposite end of the living zone on the ground level and has its own balcony and a dressing room leading into the ensuite, which has a huge walk-in shower, central bath and his-and-her vanities.

Upstairs there is a guest room with its own ensuite, and a fantastic ‘kids zone’ with an activity room, two minor bedrooms and bathroom with a step-up bath, in the same neutral tones as all of the wet areas.

Getting between levels is a breeze with an internal lift, or take in the beauty of the open riser stairs with glass balustrades – a real design feature in itself.

And often the least thought-of room is the one used most – the laundry. With a walk-in linen cupboard, hanging rails and plenty of built-in cabinetry including a beautiful timber counter – perfect for sewing or even folding laundry – it is functionality at its best.

“The Riverview is a cool and trendy luxury home with all the mod-cons, designed for low maintenance living with minimal gardens and a big focus on entertaining spaces,” Mr Marshall says.

“This was custom-designed for our South Perth clients, but reflects the requirements of so many with the lean towards narrower blocks.”
